
Simple Pesto
Description
A delicious addition to everyday and festive dishes. It's hard to imagine Italian cuisine without traditional vibrant seasonings and exquisite sauces. Try making the most beloved sauce of all residents of sunny Italy – almond Pesto with nutmeg, basil, and garlic. Serve the sauce with meat, fish, or use it as a salad dressing.

1. Preheat the oven thoroughly to 230 degrees Celsius and place the rack in the center.

2. Place raw almonds (you can use broken or crushed kernels) on a baking sheet and roast for 10 minutes, until they begin to change color.

3. Let the roasted almonds cool slightly, transfer them to a food processor, and add garlic, basil, olive oil, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.

4. Mix all ingredients until a completely homogeneous mass is obtained. Serve with pasta, meat, and fish dishes. Do not prepare a large amount of Pesto at once – the fresher the sauce, the richer its flavor.
