Description

Perfect for winter stockpiling. If you cannot preserve food for winter, this simple no-canning cucumber salting method at home will be a real find for you. 1. First, wash the cucumbers thoroughly under running water. 2. Trim off their blossom ends and make 2–3 shallow cuts in random places. This will help the cucumbers pickle faster and absorb the marinade flavor. Set them aside for now. 3. A classic simple no-canning cucumber salting recipe calls for a barrel or, at worst, a jar. But in this case everything is much simpler. You only need a sturdy bag—ideally one with a zip closure. 4. Put pre-washed blackcurrant leaves, sliced horseradish leaf, and a chopped bunch of dill into the bag. 5. Peel and mince the garlic. Add it to the greens and sprinkle in salt. 6. Gently mix everything together. 7. Now you can add the cucumbers to the bag. Seal it tightly and shake the bag as carefully as possible so everything mixes well. 8. Leave the cucumbers at room temperature for about 3 hours. 9. Then move the bag to the refrigerator and let the cucumbers marinate for about 4–5 hours. You can leave them longer if you like. That is the whole recipe for simple no-canning cucumber salting. Ready to taste.
