Cream puffs with chocolate sauce

Description

Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. Profiteroles are French pastries made from choux pastry, filled with various fillings: meat, mushrooms, custard cream, etc. This recipe yields 24 profiteroles. Serve warm or chilled. Ideal with tea.

    1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil over medium heat, stirring to completely melt the butter. Add the flour and continue stirring.

    2. Remove from heat and transfer the dough to a bowl. Using a mixer, beat the dough at medium speed. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. The dough should become thick and smooth.

Heat the mixture until bubbles form around the edges of the pan, but do not bring it to a boil. Add chopped chocolate and vanilla extract, remove from heat, and stir until the chocolate has completely melted and the sauce becomes smooth and thick.
