Apple jam (White Transparent)
Description
Homemade preserves keep for a long time. The recipe is very simple and is perfect for serving with desserts (or as a dessert on its own). If you are making jam for later use in baking, simmer it a little longer—about 20 minutes—until it is almost fully thickened. The preserve is ready for winter storage.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Wash the apples, remove the cores, and cut into quarters.
- 2
Step 2

2. Sprinkle the apples with sugar in a 2 to 1 ratio.
- 3
Step 3

3. And mix thoroughly.

Step 4

4. Let the sugared apples rest so the apples release their juice. This will take about 30 minutes. Then heat them over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring.
- 5
Step 5

5. Now that all the sugar has dissolved, blend the warmed apples in a blender until smooth and uniform.
- 6
Step 6

6. Add 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon and return to the heat. Cook for 10 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

7. Seal the hot jam in jars and place in a dark, cool place for a couple of hours.
- 8
Step 8

8. This jam can be served with fritters and thin pancakes, added to baked goods, or eaten straight from the jar with a spoon (like I do).
