
Vegan pie with jam
Description
The baking is simple and quick. In fact, I often use this plain recipe for a Lenten pie with jam not only during Lent — based on this shortcrust, which requires a minimum of ingredients, you can make all kinds of homemade desserts: tartines and pastries, casseroles and cakes. First, sift the flour and mix it with the baking powder.

Turn on the oven. Temperature - 180°C.

Grease the baking dish with oil and place it in the oven.

Mix cherry syrup with sugar and vegetable oil.

Add water and flour with baking powder, then knead into a smooth batter with the consistency of thick sour cream. Pour it into a warm baking form and scatter cherries over the surface (you can slightly press them into the batter with your fingers, but the batter will rise, so this is not necessary).

Bake the pie for 40 minutes, then check for doneness with a skewer or toothpick. Let the pie cool slightly on a rack and carefully remove it from the pan.

Serve both hot and cold. Can be sprinkled with powdered sugar or topped with jam. This crumbly, moist, aromatic fasting cake with jam is perfect for morning coffee or tea.
