Vegan yeast-free bread
Description

Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the starter: mix 4 tablespoons of flour and 4 tablespoons of warm water. Cover the container with the starter using gauze or a paper towel and place it in a warm spot (25-30°C) to ferment.
- 2
Step 2

After 48 hours, you will see that the starter has already begun to ferment. Add another 2 tablespoons of flour and 2 tablespoons of warm water. Mix the starter well and cover it again with gauze or a paper towel. Leave it for another 24 hours. Do not seal the starter tightly, otherwise it will develop mold.

Step 3

So, after three days, our starter is ready. Knead the dough: take 2 tablespoons of starter, add salt, sugar, and water. Gradually add flour. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

If the dough sticks too much to your hands, dust it with flour. Shape it into a small round ball, like a loaf.
- 5
Step 5

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the dough on it. Cover the top tightly with plastic wrap, then place a towel or paper towel on top. Let the dough rise in a warm place for another 27 hours.
- 6
Step 6

The dough may slightly increase in volume. Preheat the oven to 220°C. Remove the plastic wrap from the dough, generously sprinkle with flour, and place in the oven. Important: as soon as you put it in the preheated oven, reduce the temperature to 200°C.
- 7
Step 7

Bake for about 30-35 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

Let the finished yeast-free bread cool in the oven or wrap it in a towel for 15 minutes. Serve sliced into thin pieces.

Step 9

This is the loaf I ended up with.
