Description

The baking is simple and quick. If you've run out of eggs, or you're a vegetarian, or simply observing a fast, there are many ways to replace animal-based ingredients with plant-based ones. Try, experiment, discover new possibilities and flavors! After all, the world is multifaceted. Sponge cake isn't made with eggs alone. Serve it cooled or slightly warm.

Instructions

    Step 1

    Step 1

To properly prepare an eggless sponge cake with semolina, you'll need to put in some effort. For this, we'll use starchy bananas and jelly-like apple puree. Peel the bananas and apples, cut them into pieces, take a blender, and blend everything until smooth. This will give us a fruit puree.

    Step 2

Sift the flour. Mix it with semolina. Add baking soda. If your apples are sour, you can skip the vinegar— the acid in the apples will neutralize the baking soda. Add sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.

To this dry mixture, carefully add water, rubbing with a fork the spot where the water lands. Use cold water to prevent lumps. Then, add the fruit puree and thoroughly mix the entire consistency until smooth.

Pour the resulting mixture into a greased baking dish. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, and bake the semolina cake for 30-40 minutes.

We take out the ready-made biscuit after the required time. The biscuit semolina cake turned out surprisingly similar to the original recipe with eggs! I'll sprinkle it with coconut flakes on top. Beautiful!
