
Lenten Apricot Pie
Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. This fasting-friendly apricot pie is easy to make and needs almost nothing. It turns out tender, crumbly and delicious. You can use fresh or frozen apricots—the taste will be unaffected. You may need slightly less or slightly more flour than the quantity listed among the ingredients, because flour differs. This pie suits not only those who keep the fast but also everyone else who loves good homemade baking The baking is done. Serve it at the table.

Prepare the ingredients for making a lenten apricot pie.

Pour the sugar into a bowl.

Pour the water.

And sunflower oil.

Mix the sugar, water and sunflower oil.

Add the salt, vanilla sugar, and baking powder.

Gradually add the flour.

Knead a dough that is quite firm yet elastic and does not stick to your hands.

Visually divide the dough into three parts. Chill two thirds of the dough in the refrigerator, and put one third in the freezer for 30 minutes.

After that, place most of the dough into the baking tin. Mine is 22 centimetres in diameter.

Arrange sliced apricot wedges on the dough.

Take the smaller portion of dough out of the freezer and grate it over the apricots using a grater.

For appearance you can sprinkle the pie with poppy seeds or sesame seeds, but this is optional.

Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 175–180°C for 40–45 minutes until golden brown.
