Prepare all ingredients.

Soak poppy seeds in hot water for 10 minutes. Then drain off the water and tip the poppy seeds into a fine sieve.

Cut the tofu into cubes so it will be easier to crumble later.

Remove the zest from the lemon, then squeeze the juice.

Transfer the tofu to a blender, add sugar, lemon juice, and flour. Blend until smooth.

Transfer the mixture to a deep bowl, add poppy seeds and lemon zest.

Mix everything well. If necessary, add more sugar or lemon juice.

Divide the mixture into 6 parts. To keep it from sticking to your hands, wet them. Roll into balls.

Shape each ball like a syrniki, then dredge in flour on both sides.

Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil over medium heat. Place the syrniki in the pan and fry them for 3–5 minutes.
