Lenten flatbreads
Description
Perfect with tea and coffee. These tasty, filling lenten flatbreads are an excellent alternative to bread during Lent. The cost of the flatbreads is laughably low; they don’t take much time or effort either, yet they turn out quite tasty—they pair wonderfully with hot soups, for example. Not a delicacy, of course, but that’s what Lent is about. Good luck with your cooking! I hope you liked this simple lenten flatbread recipe. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions

Step 1

Knead a firm, elastic dough from flour and hot water. Knead until the dough is smooth and stretchy. Place the dough in a bowl greased with oil.

Step 2

Cover the container with a damp towel and leave in a warm place for 20 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Divide the resulting dough into six portions and roll each one into a ball.
- 4
Step 4

Roll each ball into a flat round 10–15 cm in diameter. Brush each flatbread with oil, season with salt, and sprinkle lightly with chopped green onion.
- 5
Step 5

Roll the flatbread into a roll.
- 6
Step 6

Then roll the resulting roll into a snail shape, as shown in the photo.
- 7
Step 7

Roll the resulting spiral out again into a flat round.
- 8
Step 8

Heat a skillet with oil and fry the flatbreads in it for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- 9
Step 9

Place the fried flatbreads on a paper towel so the excess fat is absorbed.
