Vegan baklava
Description
When you make this baklava, you'll see just how delicious and satisfying vegan dishes can be. Although, I wouldn't recommend eating this dish if you're on a diet, even though this baklava is completely vegan.
Instructions

Step 1

Dissolve the yeast in warm water. Sift in the flour. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar, 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, and vanilla. Pour in 200 g of water. Knead the dough. Shape it into 8 balls. Let them rest for half an hour.

Step 2

Now we need walnuts. You can use any nuts, as long as you have them. Grind about one kilogram of nuts in a blender, setting aside some for garnish. Add 6 tablespoons of sugar, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla powder to the blender.

Step 3

Now take a baking sheet. Grease it with oil. Roll out our dough balls into a rectangular shape, making sure the dough is as thin as possible. Place the first layer on the baking sheet. Brush the top with oil. Sprinkle with crushed nuts, making sure to do this for all the layers. Grease each layer and sprinkle with nuts.

Step 4

We leave the last layer of dough bare. Brush it with vegetable oil as well. The raw pie should be cut into diamond-shaped portions. Place a half walnut on top of each diamond. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for half an hour.

Step 5

Now we need a whole lemon. Squeeze all the juice from it. Mix the lemon juice with honey, add one cup of brown sugar and 100 g of water. Place the mixture over heat, bring to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. When the baklava turns golden brown, pour half of the syrup over it. Return to the oven for 15 minutes. Then take it out again and pour the remaining syrup over it. Finish baking until fully done.

Step 6

We take out the tray with baklava. Let the dessert cool and cut it into diamond shapes along the lines. The fragrant baklava turned out wonderfully rich and sweet—yet, note, completely suitable for fasting!
