Homemade baked treat for tea. 1. To recreate this simple recipe for a vegan apple galette in your kitchen, start by preparing the dough. Bring water to a boil, let it cool slightly (for a couple of minutes), then mix it with vegetable oil. 2. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. 3. Gradually add the flour mixture in several portions, kneading until you have a smooth, lump-free dough. Shape it into a ball and let it rest for about half an hour. 4. Meanwhile, prepare the apples. Wash them and, if desired, peel and remove the cores. Slice them thinly. 5. Sprinkle the apples with sugar and, if you'd like to enhance the flavor slightly, drizzle with lemon juice. Add a pinch of cinnamon for aroma. 6. Roll out the dough and place it onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 7. Arrange the apple slices in the center of the dough. 8. Carefully fold the edges of the dough up around the filling, leaving the center exposed. 9. Place the baking sheet into a preheated oven at 210°C (410°F) and bake for approximately 30 minutes. 10. After baking, let the vegan apple galette rest for a bit. Cover it with a clean towel or aluminum foil for 10–15 minutes.
