
Meat-Filled Donuts

Beat the chicken egg in a bowl or small dish and pour half of the beaten mixture into the minced meat. If you are using a lot of minced meat for a large family, then add the whole egg to it. Grate half an onion on a fine grater. Add 2 pinches of salt and a pinch of ground black pepper, and thoroughly knead the minced meat.

Pour water into the remaining beaten egg and add a pinch of salt. Beat once more. Then add the wheat flour and gently fold it in, making a very thick batter, like for pancakes.

Moisten your palms with water and divide the minced meat into equal portions. Roll them between your hands to form rounded balls. Dip each ball in the batter on all sides.

Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan or cauldron with a nonstick bottom. Place the dough balls into it; when the oil comes to a boil, immediately reduce the heat to medium.

Fry for about 10–12 minutes, turning the doughnuts from time to time so that they brown evenly.
