Poppy Seed Doughnuts
Description
Homemade pastries for tea. I bought the poppy seeds by weight at the hypermarket—this is much cheaper. All the other ingredients were already purchased in advance. And there was some leftover vodka from the previous holiday. The doughnuts turned out fluffy and festive—such a beauty at a low cost.
Instructions

Step 1

Grind the poppy seeds together with sugar in a food processor or mortar. Transfer to a dish—this is the filling we've got!

Step 2

Place milk with margarine in a saucepan over heat. Sprinkle yeast with sugar (1.5 cups) and set aside in a warm place. Pour the hot boiled milk into sifted flour. Beat egg yolks with the remaining sugar, then add melted margarine, sunflower oil, a little vodka, a pinch of salt, and the activated yeast.

Step 3

Let the dough rest for 1.5 hours so it has time to react with the yeast. Then divide it into small portions and shape each into a small, plump patty. Place the filling into each patty, seal the edges, and shape into balls.

Step 4

We cook donuts in hot oil in a deep dish. Fry them until golden brown, so they are nicely browned and beautiful!

Step 5

Dust the donuts with powdered sugar. And here's the beauty we've got, with a rich poppy seed filling!
