The baking process is simple and quick. These attractive, nutritious donuts will satisfy hunger and make a delicious dessert. They are made from yeast dough. This recipe describes how to prepare unfilled donuts, covered with chocolate glaze and sprinkled with colorful sprinkles. These visually appealing treats, originating from American cuisine, resemble our traditional bagels and beautifully complement Russian cooking. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

    1. Before making baked donuts, place all the ingredients on the table. Put granulated sugar, vanilla sugar, a little flour, and yeast into a small container. Add warm milk, slightly heated above room temperature.

    2. Mix the ingredients, cover with a warm towel, and let rise slightly in a warm place for half an hour.

    3. Start preparing the icing. Place a saucepan with milk, powdered sugar, and syrup on the stove.

    4. Heat the glaze to boiling. Add the chocolate broken into pieces. Turn off the heat. Stir until the chocolate melts.

    5. Add butter to the glaze, stir until smooth, and let it cool.

    6. Into the risen dough, add the eggs and pour in the warm milk. Add 2/3 of the butter. Gradually, in small portions, add the flour. Knead the dough by hand, after first greasing your hands with the remaining butter. Let the finished dough rest in a bowl for half an hour to allow it to rise further. Cover the bowl with a towel.

    7. Roll out the dough into small pieces. Using two different types of glasses, cut out ring-shaped cookie forms from each piece. Transfer the doughnuts to a baking sheet and let them rise for half an hour. Bake at 180°C until golden.

    8. Remove the donuts, transfer them to a rack and let them cool. Dip one side of each donut into the chocolate glaze. Set aside to let the glaze dry. Decorate with sprinkles.
