Tomatoes with Cheese in the Air Fryer
Description
Perfect for the table and with drinks. Quick, simple, and very tasty — these are baked tomatoes with cheese in an air fryer. If you love a juicy appetizer, don't remove the seeds from the tomatoes. And if you want softer tomatoes and melted cheese, bake the tomatoes first, then add the cheese and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Choose medium-sized tomatoes—not too large and not too small. You can use any hard, unsalted cheese, or suluguni. In the latter case, do not add salt, as the cheese is already salty.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the tomatoes in water, pat them dry with a paper towel, and cut off the "lids" on top and a small portion from the bottom so the tomatoes are stable and do not roll around on the appliance tray.
- 3
Step 3

Grate the cheese on a coarse- or fine-hole grater onto a plate or into a bowl.
- 4
Step 4

Place the tomatoes in the air fryer basket or on the tray.
- 5
Step 5

Top with grated cheese. If you like, you can cut the seeds out of the tomatoes and place cheese into the resulting “barrels.” If you decide to remove the seeds, bake only the tomatoes first for 5 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Set the temperature to 180 degrees and bake the tomato appetizer for approximately 3–5 minutes, depending on the size of the tomatoes and the power of your appliance.
- 7
Step 7

Carefully transfer the hot tomatoes with cheese from the bowl onto a plate and serve with fresh herbs, sour cream, etc. Enjoy your meal!
