
Gravy for meatballs
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. The sauce for the meatballs can be made from sour cream, cream, tomatoes, a combination of these, with cheese, or even simply with water. I would like to share a successful recipe. I'll show and tell you. The finished dish can be served at the table.

Place the tomatoes, cut crosswise on top, into a saucepan with boiling water and cook over high heat for 5 minutes. Then drain the water and let the tomatoes cool.

Over medium heat, heat a large skillet with sunflower oil and sauté thinly sliced onion rings, stirring, until soft and lightly browned.

Peel the carrots and grate them on a coarse grater. Add the carrots to the onions, mix well, and simmer the vegetables together for 8–10 minutes.

Peel the cooked tomatoes, cut the tomatoes into pieces and place them in the blender container.

Purée the tomatoes until a smooth puree forms.

Add tomato puree to the pan with the vegetables.

Wash and chop the fresh dill, then add it to the pan.

Season the vegetable sauce to taste, mix well, and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes, then turn off the stove.

Take a cast-iron pot and add several black peppercorns and 2-3 bay leaves. Place the prepared and fried meatballs into the pot. Pour the sauce over the meatballs, cover the pot with a lid, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer the meatballs in the sauce for about 45 minutes.

Serve the meatballs hot with sauce and any side dish to taste.
