Gravy for meatballs

Description

Amazingly fragrant and delicious tomato sauce is perfect with meatballs—don't even doubt it. Everyone will be delighted. Ideal for pasta, meat, and vegetables.

   Step 1

   To prepare tomato sauce for meatballs, place a frying pan over medium heat and pour in olive oil. Add finely chopped onion, carrot, celery, and parsley to the pan. Mix well and sauté, covered, for 15–20 minutes, until the vegetables become soft.

   Step 2

   Add chopped or otherwise finely minced garlic and tomatoes, previously peeled and finely chopped. Mix, then add tomato paste, basil, and spices.

   Step 3

   Wait for the mixture to boil, then reduce the heat and wait for it to thicken. After that, add the meatballs and cook for 15-20 minutes.
