Kidneys in sauce
Description
The recipe won't take much time. You'll definitely enjoy this simple kidney dish with sauce! It's both easy and original. Personally, I was surprised (even amazed) by one "detail" in the recipe—mint. It really helps prepare the kidneys faster for cooking and, moreover, gives the dish unique flavor notes. Give it a try. Serve hot.

Step 1

1. Rinse the kidneys thoroughly, cut them into pieces, removing all unwanted parts. Soak them in water with mint for two to three hours, changing the water a couple of times. Now sauté the onion and carrots in vegetable oil until golden brown.

Step 2

2. Add the kidneys and chopped potatoes. Sauté everything together. Then pour in a glass of boiling water and simmer over low heat until the liquid reduces by half.

Step 3

3. Now pour in the cream, add all the spices. Continue simmering until the potatoes and kidneys are cooked. Add the herbs at the very end. I use spinach, a bit of parsley, and fresh mint. Adjust the sauce thickness to your preference.

Step 4

4. I cook until the sauce becomes very thick, like cream.
