Pilaf in the microwave
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. With this simple recipe, you can make delicious pilaf in a microwave at home. Of course, it won't compare to the one cooked over an open fire by skilled Uzbek chefs. Nevertheless, this recipe will come in handy whenever you need to quickly prepare lunch. 1. Cut the meat into small pieces, add half of the vegetable oil, and cook in the microwave at 1000 watts for about 5 minutes. 2. Peel the onion and carrot. Slice the onion into half-rings and cut the carrot into thin strips (no thicker than 0.5 cm). 3. Add the vegetables to the meat and place in the microwave at 1000 watts for 3–4 minutes. 4. Rinse the rice. Add it to the meat and vegetables, spread the surface evenly. Season with salt, pepper, and spices. Pour in water. 5. Cook at the same power for about 20 minutes. Microwaves vary, so after the indicated time, check the rice and continue cooking if necessary until done. The first step can also be done in a frying pan—I prefer this method as the meat gets a nicer color. Choose the method you like. Good luck! The dish is now ready to serve.
