Pilaf in an air fryer
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. You can cook pilaf in an air fryer in several ways: bake it in a bag, in a casserole dish, or directly in the air fryer bowl. I'll tell you about the last option—the taste of pilaf prepared this way is closest to the classic version. You can use any meat you prefer or have on hand, but it's better if it has some fat. I'll be cooking pilaf with beef. Add spices and seasonings to taste; I'm using a ready-made pilaf spice mix. The finished dish can now be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients. Rinse the meat and dry it. Cut into portion pieces.
- 2
Step 2

Pour 1-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into the air fryer basket and add the sliced meat.
- 3
Step 3

Brown the meat for 15 minutes at 200 degrees. Stir two or three times to prevent the meat from drying out.
- 4
Step 4

Then add the carrots cut into thin strips and the scallions cut into feathers. Pour in the remaining oil and continue cooking at the same temperature for about 5 minutes. Stir the meat with the vegetables a couple of times.
- 5
Step 5

Add salt and spices to taste. Mix and cook for another couple of minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Then pour in boiling water, just enough to barely cover the meat. Adjust the seasoning with salt and cook at 160 degrees for about 10 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Peel the garlic, rinse it thoroughly, and add it to the meat with the vegetables.
- 8
Step 8

Place the washed rice on top.
- 9
Step 9

Add boiling water. The water level should be no more than 2-2.5 cm above the rice, otherwise it will turn into porridge. Set the temperature to 200 degrees and cook for about an hour, or until the rice is done. There's a nuance here: every 15-20 minutes, the pilaf needs to be stirred gently.

Step 10

Of course, this is not a classic plov that can be cooked in a cauldron, but it still turns out very delicious! I recommend trying it if you really crave plov but only have an air fryer on hand.

Step 11

Pilaf in the convection oven is ready.
