Description

The recipe won't take much time. Sweet pilaf is quite an unusual dish. It resembles regular kutya, only this dish should definitely be prepared for a joyful occasion! Children will find this meal very delightful, as all kids love sweets! And here, there's plenty of health benefits too. Serve hot.

    Let's start with the pumpkin. Peel off the skin. Cut a piece weighing about 200 grams. Dice it into cubes. Now take a deep frying pan or a pot. Place it over heat, add a piece of butter. Put in the pumpkin and sauté it slightly. You can add a bit of sugar if you'd like it to taste sweeter.

    Now let's prepare the dried fruits. They need to be soaked in advance to remove any sand or other impurities. Washed dried fruits are added whole directly into the pan with the pumpkin and simmered for 5 minutes.

    If you are planning to cook rice or prepare pilaf, be sure to rinse the rice under running water until the water runs clear. After that, soak it in cold water for at least half an hour. Then it will be ready to cook. Place the rinsed rice evenly over the pumpkin and dried fruits.

    After all the ingredients are added, pour in 350 grams of cold water. Simmer over low heat. When half of the water has evaporated, add cinnamon, saffron, and cardamom. Cover with a lid and simmer for about 25 minutes.

    The pilaf will be ready very soon. Turn off the heat, add a few spoons of liquid honey to the dish. If the honey has crystallized, dilute it with water and add it 5 minutes before it's done. Let the pilaf sit for another 10-15 minutes. Then you can start your meal! Enjoy your sweet lunch!
