Plov with sausage
Description
You can prepare sausage pilaf at home in just one hour. Use long-grain rice and rinse it thoroughly after cooking. This dish can rightfully be called a quick meal. Pilaf is traditionally made with meat, but over many years of culinary development, the recipe has evolved. Nowadays, there are numerous variations of pilaf: with seafood, sausages, meat, and vegetables.

Step 1

1. With a minimal set of ingredients, you can have a hearty dish—pilaf with sausage made at home. It's also called "student pilaf" because sausages are used instead of meat (which is cheaper, easier, and faster).

Step 2

2. First, thoroughly wash the rice and put it on to cook. Cook until fully done.

Step 3

3. After cooking, drain the water through a colander and let the rice sit for a while. I usually rinse it to keep the grains fluffy.

Step 4

4. While the rice is cooking, cut the sausages into small pieces and place them in a frying pan. Add the onion, carrot, and garlic to the pan as well. Some people, to enhance the flavor and add a bit of tanginess, also add diced sour apple—but this is optional.

Step 5

5. At the very end, add tomato paste (optional) and cook until done. Now mix the rice with sausages and vegetables and serve. You can present it however you like.
