Pilaf with sausages
Description
The recipe won't take much time. 1. Peel the onion and dice it finely. 2. Pour a little vegetable oil into a thick-bottomed saucepan and add the onion. Fry until translucent. 3. You can press the garlic and add it to the onion, or, following classic tradition, wash a whole garlic head and place it into the rice. 4. Peel the sausages and slice them thinly into rounds or cubes. Add to the onion and fry until a delicious crust forms. For extra flavor, you may also use sausage or cold cuts in this pilaf recipe. 5. Wash the apple, peel it, remove the core, and cut into thin strips or small cubes. Lightly sauté in the saucepan. This ingredient is optional and can be omitted if desired. 6. Pour in tomato sauce, then season with salt and pepper to taste (considering the rice and water). 7. Add washed rice to the saucepan and pour in enough water to just cover the rice. 8. Cover with a lid and simmer the sausage pilaf over low heat until all the liquid has evaporated. Then let it sit for another 15–20 minutes. 9. Serve hot, sprinkled with fresh herbs.
