
Simple pilaf
Description
Pilaf is a very delicious dish. It is served only hot. In Eastern countries, it is customary to eat it with hands. You can prepare it with meat or as a vegetarian version. If making meat pilaf, you can use meat pieces with or without bones. It is often accompanied by various dried fruits, nuts, spices, and vegetables.

1. First, thoroughly rinse the rice, then transfer it to a saucepan and pour in water. Let it sit for a while to allow the water to be absorbed.

2. Peel the onion, then cut it into medium pieces. Heat a kazan or a thick-bottomed pot with vegetable oil, add the onion.

3. Cut the chicken meat (without bones and skin) into pieces and add it after a few minutes.

4. Add all the spices, pour in 2 cups of water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook for 10 minutes.

5. Peel the carrots and cut them into small strips. Add to the cauldron, mix and season with salt.

6. Drain the water from the grain and transfer the rice to the other ingredients.

8. Pour water over the rice, enough to cover it by 1-2 fingers. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to the lowest setting and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.

9. Separate the garlic head into cloves, do not peel them, and immediately insert them evenly into the rice. Cover the pot with a lid and cook for another 10-15 minutes.
