Duck pilaf in a multicooker

Description

Pilaf is a very tasty and filling dish that is quite easy to prepare, which is why it frequently appears in our everyday menu. Usually I cook it according to the classic recipe, but sometimes I make small changes, particularly using a different kind of meat instead of pork. The flavor of the dish then becomes completely different, and the aroma changes as well. Today I would like to share with you one such recipe and tell you about it.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

First, prepare all the necessary ingredients. Remove the fat from the duck meat (we will need it), then cut the meat into small pieces. Cut the carrots into strips, the onion into half-rings, rinse the rice and cover it with water, and peel the garlic cloves without separating them.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Turn on the "Sauté" mode on the multicooker for 50 minutes and place the duck fat into the bowl. If you don't have a lot of fat, like me, you can add a small amount of vegetable oil. Sauté the fat until all the juices have rendered out, then remove the fat pieces from the multicooker using a slotted spoon.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Now, in the mixture of fat and oil, sauté the onion until golden brown. 25 minutes before the program ends, add the pieces of meat to the onion and continue frying. After about 5 minutes, add the carrots to the multicooker, and another 5 minutes later, add the cumin. 10 minutes before the program ends, place the peeled garlic heads into the multicooker.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Next, select the "Stew/Simmer" mode on the multicooker for one hour and pour water into the bowl. When the liquid comes to a boil, season the dish with salt.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

When the time is up, we switch to the "Rice/Buckwheat" mode. Drain the water from the rice and add it to the pot, spreading it evenly over the entire surface. Close the multicooker lid and cook the pilaf for 45 minutes.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Then, after the time has elapsed, we add a little more cumin to the dish and let the pilaf warm for 20–30 minutes.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Now we mix it and serve the pilaf onto plates.
