Description

The recipe won't take much time. It's a very simple variation of the beloved dish—barley pilaf cooked in a multicooker. Preparing it requires no special culinary skills, yet the result will be simply fantastic. Serve hot.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

    1. To prepare barley pilaf in a multicooker, start by soaking the grain in cold water for at least 3 hours. After this time has elapsed, you can begin the actual cooking process. Wash the carrots, peel them, and grate on a medium grater (or cut into thin strips). Peel the onion and dice into small cubes.

    Step 2

    2. Pour a little vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl and add the vegetables. In the Bake mode, lightly sauté the carrots and onions, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    3. Meanwhile, you can prepare the meat. For this dish, you can use any meat at all, or, as in this case, canned stewed meat.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

    4. Put the meat cut into small pieces into the multicooker and fry with the vegetables for a couple of minutes. Meanwhile, drain the water from the grain and rinse it thoroughly.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

    5. Slightly salt the meat fried with vegetables and add pilaf seasoning (aromatic cumin must be an essential component). Pour barley grains into the multicooker bowl.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

    6. Pour 5 glasses (multicooker measure) of water or previously prepared broth into the bowl. Wash the garlic, dry it, and place it into the bowl whole (to ensure the garlic flavor permeates both aroma and taste, chop a couple of cloves and add them to the multicooker). Select the Pilaf setting (if this setting is not available, use the Stewing or Rice/Grain setting). Once the program finishes, leave the barley pilaf in the multicooker on the Keep Warm setting for about 1 hour. After this time, the dish is ready to be served.
