Mashed potatoes with gravy
Description
The recipe won't take much time. To prepare the meat gravy, you'll need meat. It doesn't have to be beef—you can use pork or even chicken. If you want the gravy to be thick, simply thicken it with a small amount of flour. Serve hot.
Instructions

Step 1

Wash a piece of young beef and dry it with paper towels. Then trim off the membranes and tendons, and cut the meat into small pieces. Heat olive oil in a frying pan, add the meat pieces and fry until browned, stirring occasionally.

Step 2

Peel and wash the onion. Cut it into wedges or half-rings. Add the onion to the meat and fry for about five minutes. Then cover with a lid and simmer over low heat for about an hour in its own juice.

Step 3

Cut fresh or canned tomatoes into small pieces after removing the skin. Alternatively, you can replace them with tomato juice or tomato paste diluted with a small amount of water. Add the tomatoes to the pan together with grated garlic and spices. Season with salt to taste and simmer for another fifteen minutes.

Step 4

Peel and wash the potatoes. Boil them until cooked, drain the water, pour in milk, and add a piece of butter. Then mash everything into a smooth puree, seasoning it with salt beforehand. Place the puree onto a plate and pour meat gravy over it.
