Mashed potatoes with milk

   Wash the potatoes, peel them, and cut into large pieces. Cover the pieces with water. Bring to a boil and add salt. Then add a peeled onion and a bay leaf. Cook the potatoes until done.

   After this, drain off almost all the water. Remove the bay leaf and onion. Mash the potatoes into a puree, adding milk and butter.
