Sorrel pastries on kefir
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. Today I want to tell you about them. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Add yeast and sugar to warm water. Stir until dissolved and set aside for some time to activate.
- 2
Step 2

Add salt, vegetable oil, and yeast mixture to warm kefir. Mix well. Sift the flour and add it to the dough in portions.
- 3
Step 3

Knead the dough, gradually adding the remaining flour. The dough should become smooth, soft, and pliable. Place it in a warm spot for about an hour. During this time, it will rise and become fluffy.

Step 4

We will wash the sorrel well and dry it slightly. Chop it finely, add salt, and lightly press it with our hands. Finely chop the peeled eggs and add them to the sorrel. If desired, you can also add some green onion.
- 5
Step 5

Divide the dough into small balls and cover with a towel; let them rest for 5 minutes. Grease your hands and the work surface (cutting board or mat) with vegetable oil, roll out a flatbread, and place the filling on it.
- 6
Step 6

Shape the buns, sealing the edges well, and place them seam-side down onto a hot skillet with vegetable oil. You can use less oil, but then cook them a bit longer; for the second side, you can cover the skillet with a lid.
- 7
Step 7

Fry the buns for several minutes on each side over medium heat. Place the cooked buns on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
