Cherry pastries on kefir
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. It's probably hard to find someone who doesn't like delicious hot buns, especially homemade ones—this treat is a favorite among both adults and children. And surely, as many housewives as there are, there are just as many different recipes for making them, with various fillings and dough. Since I have a sweet tooth and love berry and fruit fillings, I'd like to share my favorite recipe with you. Serve cooled down or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, we crumble the yeast and place it into a bowl.
- 2
Step 2

Add 2 tablespoons of water, one tablespoon of sugar, half a teaspoon of salt, and mix everything thoroughly.
- 3
Step 3

Pour kefir and half a cup of vegetable oil into a small saucepan, and heat this mixture over low heat.
- 4
Step 4

Pour the contents of the saucepan into the bowl with the yeast.
- 5
Step 5

Add flour.
- 6
Step 6

And knead a smooth, elastic dough. Cover the bowl with a towel and let it rest in a warm place for half an hour.
- 7
Step 7

While the dough is rising, we'll prepare the cherries, wash them, and remove the pits. This time I had frozen berries, so I simply thawed them and squeezed out the excess juice.
- 8
Step 8

When the dough has risen, we place it on the table and divide it into two parts. We roll each part into a sausage shape, cut it into small rounds, cover them with a towel, and let them rise for 10 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

Then we flatten each circle into a patty and place several cherries in the center, sprinkling them with sugar.
- 10
Step 10

Then we join the edges of the dough and shape the pie. Let the prepared pies rise for another 5–10 minutes.
- 11
Step 11

Now pour vegetable oil into the frying pan and heat it. Place the buns seam-side down on the pan and fry them on each side until golden brown.
- 12
Step 12

Now the buns are ready, place them on a plate and serve.
