Step 1

1. This simple recipe for rice and egg buns starts with preparing the dough. To do this, dissolve the yeast in a bowl by adding sugar and about 2 cups of warm water. Then add a pinch of salt, a little vegetable oil, and gradually incorporate flour. The dough should be soft, elastic, and not stick to your hands. Once kneading is complete, cover the dough and set it aside in a warm place for about 1 hour. During this time, the dough will rise and become fluffy.

2. Next, place the rice in cold water (using a 2:1 water-to-rice ratio) and cook until done. Once boiling, season with salt to taste and, if desired, add your favorite rice seasonings. Also, start boiling the eggs. Green onions are quite an interesting ingredient for the filling. Of course, adding them is optional, but they add a certain piquancy. Wash, dry, and finely chop the green onions.

3. Cool and peel the hard-boiled eggs. Cut into small cubes and mix with the onion. Also add slightly cooled rice.

Step 4

4. The filling is missing the final ingredient—melted butter. Then mix everything thoroughly. You can season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 5

5. When the dough is ready, you can proceed to the main process. Take a small piece of dough and flatten it with your hands, forming a small circle. Place the filling in the center and carefully seal the edges. Repeat this with all the buns. To make working with the dough easier, you can lightly grease your hands with a small amount of vegetable oil.

Step 6

6. The recipe for rice and egg buns is almost complete. It remains to heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and place the buns there. Do not put them too close to each other. Fry on both sides until golden brown, then transfer to a paper towel to absorb excess oil. These buns are perfect as a snack at work or during a picnic.
