Onion pastries with kefir
Description
Onion pastries made with kefir disappear from the table very quickly—they are suitable for almost any meal: breakfast, lunch, snack, or even dinner. These pastries are purely homemade; you won't find them in fast food places, and why would you when they're so quick and easy to make at home? Let me share the recipe with you. Serve them warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. I recommend using a richer kefir; homemade sour milk, available at any market, is ideal. The richer the kefir, the softer and more tender the buns will turn out.
- 2
Step 2

Add the baking soda to the kefir after extinguishing it with vinegar, and let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the ingredients to react. Once a foam appears on the surface, you can continue preparing the dough.
- 3
Step 3

Add 1 egg and sunflower oil.
- 4
Step 4

Stir until smooth. The mixture will become homogeneous without much effort, so you won't need a mixer for this.
- 5
Step 5

Add the flour and knead a soft dough.
- 6
Step 6

Leave the prepared dough at room temperature while you prepare the filling.
- 7
Step 7

Rinse the onion and finely chop it.
- 8
Step 8

Chop the pre-boiled eggs into small cubes.
- 9
Step 9

Mix the eggs with the onion.
- 10
Step 10

Cut off a small piece of dough, roll it out, place the filling in the center, and close the turnover, sealing the edges well.
- 11
Step 11

Fry the buns in hot sunflower oil.
- 12
Step 12

The buns are ready.
