Salmon Pies

Description

The recipe won't take much time. I'm sure even beginner cooks won't have any trouble with this simple salmon pie recipe. Making salmon pies isn't complicated at all, yet the results are simply magical. I can't find the words to describe how delicious they are—they just melt in your mouth, and you can eat them all in one sitting... If you have salmon (you can substitute another red fish) and puff pastry, make them—you won't regret it :) Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

    Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes. Put them in a saucepan, pour in the cream, and cook until done.

    Make mashed potatoes from boiled potatoes; drain off excess cream.

    Cut the salmon fillet into small cubes.

    Mix the mashed potatoes, fish, finely chopped herbs, and salt. Mix well.

    Roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of about 2 mm, and cut circles from the dough approximately 8 cm in diameter.

    Take half of the cut circles and place a tablespoon of filling on each.

    Cover the filling with the remaining circles on top.

    Pinch the edges.

    Make a small slit in the center of each pie — steam will escape through it.

    Brush the pastries with beaten egg, place on a baking sheet greased with oil or lined with parchment paper, put in an oven preheated to 200 degrees, and bake for about 20 minutes.
