Apricot-filled buns baked in the oven
Description
Perfectly complements tea and coffee. I think many of you will agree that making buns is quite a long and labor-intensive process (just preparing the dough is a task in itself), but as soon as I think about these buns and imagine their amazing aroma, my feet automatically carry me to the kitchen. I'll be honest with you—this treat is definitely worth the time and effort, and now I'll tell you how.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First of all, we'll prepare the dough. To do this, heat the water to 35 degrees, crumble the yeast into it, add half a cup of sugar and some flour to create a mixture with a consistency similar to sour cream. Set it aside in a warm place for about an hour. After that time, add the remaining flour, sugar, salt, vanilla, and vegetable oil to the resulting starter. Knead the dough thoroughly, then cover it with a towel and place it in a warm spot to rise. When the dough has doubled in volume, punch it down and let it rise again.

Step 2

While the dough is rising, we'll calmly prepare the filling. Take one medium orange and peel off the skin (zest), removing the white pith.
- 3
Step 3

Now grind the apricots, orange zest, and berry jam through a meat grinder, then mix everything together.

Step 4

Now that our dough has risen, we can start shaping the buns. Knead the dough once again and divide it into equal parts, about 80 grams each (I got 28 pieces), then shape them into balls. Lightly oil a flat surface and place a ball on it, flattening it into a round patty.
- 5
Step 5

Now carefully make two cuts on the sides.
- 6
Step 6

Place the filling in the center.
- 7
Step 7

First, fold one edge to the center.
- 8
Step 8

Then the second.
- 9
Step 9

We also pinch the corners of the pie, leaving only one opening in the center.
- 10
Step 10

We do the same with the remaining dough. Grease the baking sheet with vegetable oil and place the buns on it, leaving them in a warm place for 20–30 minutes.
- 11
Step 11

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 220 degrees and bake the buns for 20 minutes.
- 12
Step 12

When the buns cool down a bit, separate them and place them on a small plate. Enjoy your tea time!
