Cranberry Pastries
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Many people don't like cranberries due to their noticeable tartness. However, this is a very healthy berry that should definitely be eaten. Cranberry-filled buns, with the berries hidden in the dough and sugar, are an excellent alternative. They are perfect for a snack or tea time.

Step 1

1. The recipe for cranberry buns begins, of course, with the dough. First, mix sifted flour, sugar, a pinch of salt, and yeast. Then add butter, mix well, and pour in warm milk. If the quality of the yeast is questionable, it's better to dissolve them first in warm milk with sugar, then add the mixture to the flour. Knead a soft, elastic dough. Cover it and let it rise in a warm place for at least 1 hour.

2. After that, knead the dough again and divide it into equal pieces. It's best to let them rest for a while and rise slightly.

Step 3

3. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Mix the cranberries with sugar and stir thoroughly. To prevent the cranberry buns from leaking during baking, add cornstarch. That's it, the filling is ready. Optionally, add a little vanilla sugar for extra flavor.

Step 4

4. Now it's time to shape the buns. Take a piece of dough, flatten it into a round, place cranberries in sugar in the center, and seal the edges.

Step 5

5. You can leave the sides open or completely seal the edges (in the latter case, make a couple of small holes on top to let steam escape).

Step 6

6. Place the buns on a greased baking sheet or one lined with parchment paper. Put into a preheated oven. Bake until golden brown.
