Potato and Cheese Pastries
Description
Homemade pastries for tea. It might seem that the combination of the main ingredients is common in many hot dishes, but in this version it looks surprisingly unique. The buns disappear quickly with tea, and when you bite into the filling, it stretches deliciously, just like on pizza. I highly recommend you try them. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Make the dough. In half a cup of warm milk, dissolve the yeast with sugar and salt. After 10 minutes, sift flour into the starter, add the remaining milk and melted butter. Knead the dough. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- 2
Step 2

Meanwhile, boil the potatoes in their skins until cooked.
- 3
Step 3

Grate the cooled and peeled potatoes. Grate the cheese and add it as well. Add spices, salt, and pepper. Mix — and the filling is ready.
- 4
Step 4

Roll the prepared dough into a sausage shape, then cut it into equal pieces.
- 5
Step 5

Roll out each piece into an oval-shaped flatbread. Make cuts on one part, and place a spoonful of filling on the second part.
- 6
Step 6

Roll each pastry into a roll. Brush each with beaten egg.
- 7
Step 7

Bake the buns at 180 degrees in a preheated oven for 35 minutes.
