Potato pastries on kefir
Description
Delicious baked treats for the whole family. Potato-filled buns made with kefir are easy and very quick to prepare. This dough is quite simple, yet the buns turn out absolutely amazing. You can choose any filling you like. This dough goes well with potatoes, liver with mashed potatoes, mushrooms, etc. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions

Step 1

1. I had some kefir left, which I decided to use for buns. It was 2.5% fat. So, gently warm the kefir, add baking soda and neutralize it with vinegar. Add salt and sugar to taste, and finally incorporate the flour.

Step 2

2. Knead a firm, elastic dough. It should not stick to your hands, but shouldn't be too stiff either. Let it rest for a while (while you prepare the filling), then you can cut it and start shaping the buns.

Step 3

3. Today I decided to treat my family with potato buns. For this, you need to boil the potatoes until cooked, and separately sauté some onions. Then mash the potatoes and mix in the fried onions. That's such a simple, yet very tasty filling.

Step 4

4. Divide the dough into portions (I cut it with a knife), and roll each portion into a sausage shape. Then cut each sausage-shaped piece into smaller pieces. These will be the bases for our buns.

Step 5

5. Don't skimp on the filling, as the dough is very sturdy and won't tear during frying. Place the filling in the center. Seal the pie, pressing the edges firmly together.

Step 6

6. Place seam-side down and gently roll with a rolling pin. This is done to make the buns uniform in shape.
- 7
Step 7

7. Add a small amount of vegetable oil to the pan and place the buns in it. Fry them on both sides until golden brown.
- 8
Step 8

8. Frying the dumplings takes about 5-7 minutes.

Step 9

9. Enjoy them hot or cold. These kefir-based potato buns are equally delicious whether served hot or cold!
