Cabbage turnovers made with yeast-free puff pastry
Description
Making buns from flaky yeast dough is incredibly easy. And there are so many different ways and methods to shape them: square, round, triangular, basket-shaped, and many, many others. Below is a recipe. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Pre-cook the cabbage by finely chopping it with a wide knife and frying it in a pan until soft. Add a little tomato paste diluted with water (or juice), and continue cooking until the liquid has evaporated. The cooked cabbage can be used as a filling for buns and dumplings, or served with mashed potatoes. It will be very delicious, so I recommend making a larger quantity right away.

Step 2

Thaw several sheets of ready-made yeast-free puff pastry, cut each sheet into 4 equal parts, and roll out each piece so that it approximately doubles in size.

Step 3

Place 2 tablespoons of the prepared cabbage onto half of the rolled-out dough.

Step 4

Cover the filling with the second half of the dough, moisten the edges with water, and press with a fork.

Step 5

Place the buns on a baking sheet, previously lined with parchment paper. Brush each bun with beaten egg yolk.

Step 6

Bake the puff pastries until golden brown. The pastries are ready—enjoy them yourself and treat your loved ones!
