
Pirozhki with cabbage and tomato paste
Description
The recipe won’t take much time. Few people can resist homemade oven-baked pies. The filling is very simple and unpretentious, but very tasty. Stew the cabbage with vegetables and tomato paste. Knead a yeast dough with milk, adding eggs and butter. Can be served with tea or coffee.

Prepare all the ingredients.

Crumble the yeast into warm, slightly heated milk.

Beat the chicken eggs with sugar, add a couple of pinches of salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir.

Sift the flour into a deep bowl and pour in the yeast egg mixture.

Knead a soft dough, leave it under a towel for 40 minutes, let it rise.

Shred the cabbage. Grate the carrot and finely chop the onion. Sauté the vegetables in a frying pan with vegetable oil for 3–4 minutes over medium heat, stirring. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Add the tomato paste, stir, and simmer over low heat for 10-12 minutes until the cabbage is tender. The filling is ready; let it cool.

The dough has tripled in size; punch it down and shape the pies.

Divide the dough into medium-sized balls, flatten them with your palm, and place the cabbage filling in the center.

Shape the pirozhki and place them on a baking sheet seam side down.
