Description

Perfect with tea and coffee. The pies are quite simple to make. Use any sausage to your taste. Prepare the dough to your liking as well. It can be rich, like mine, or completely unleavened. In the second case, it’s better to fry the pies, which is also good. The baked goods are ready. Serve them to the table.

    Prepare the ingredients for making pirozhki.

    Knead the dough. In a deep bowl, crumble the yeast.

    Pour in warm milk. Add the egg and sugar.

    Melt the butter or margarine. Let it cool slightly and add it to the bowl.

    Mix the yeast, milk, egg, sugar, and butter. Add the salt and gradually incorporate the sifted flour.

    First, stir the dough with a spoon in a bowl. Then place it on a work surface dusted with flour and knead it into a soft, elastic dough. Cover the dough with plastic wrap or a towel and put it in a warm place.

    In an hour to an hour and a half, it will increase in volume by 2–3 times.

    While the dough is rising, prepare the filling for the pies. Shred the cabbage into thin strips. Finely chop the onion. Put the vegetables into a frying pan. Add sunflower oil and 50–60 ml of water. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the vegetables over slightly below medium heat until soft. Stir occasionally.

    Cut the boiled sausage into small cubes and add it to the cabbage, then mix.

    Take the dough out of the bowl and knead it down. Divide it into balls weighing approximately 50–60 grams.

    Roll each ball into a flat cake. Place the filling in the center.

    Place the pirozhki in a baking dish seam-side down. Cover with plastic wrap and let stand at room temperature for 25-30 minutes.

    Then brush with egg and place in the oven preheated to 175–180 degrees. Bake the pirozhki for 30–35 minutes. The baking time depends on your oven.
