
Lentil-filled buns
Description
Delicious baked treats for the whole family. Lentil buns are a simple everyday recipe for an interesting weekday meal. Serve them hot with sour cream. You can optionally add ground black pepper to the filling. The result is tasty and filling. Perfect with tea or coffee.

Step 1

1. Mix the carbonated water with the milk and warm slightly. Add sugar and dry yeast. Let stand for 10–15 minutes to activate the yeast. Sift the flour into a deep bowl, then pour in the milk mixture with water and yeast. Add salt and sunflower oil. Stir with a spoon, then turn out onto a floured surface. Knead into a soft, elastic dough.

2. Place the finished dough into a pot or another suitable container, cover with plastic wrap, and leave in a warm place for 40–60 minutes to let it rise. Prepare the filling in advance. To do this, thoroughly wash the lentils and soak them in cold water for 2 hours. Then cook until soft, like porridge, and season with salt to taste. Finely chop the onion and sauté in vegetable oil, then add it to the lentil porridge and mix well. Once the dough has risen, divide it into pieces weighing about 60–70 grams each. Roll them out one by one, place the filling in the center, and shape into elongated buns.

3. Fry the buns on both sides on a preheated pan with sunflower oil. Lentil buns are ready!
