Cottage cheese pastries with kefir

Description

Delicious baked treats for the whole family. I think many of us are now nostalgically remembering the tasty treats our beloved grandmothers used to make for us, each having her own signature dishes for her grandchildren. Unlike other kids, I never liked sweet pastries, so my grandmother would fry special little pies for me using this simple kefir and cottage cheese recipe. I couldn't be pulled away from them, even by the ears, and even today I adore them—nothing tastes better to me than these little pies. You definitely should try them, especially since making kefir cottage cheese pies at home is incredibly easy. Serve them cooled down or slightly warm.

Prepare all the necessary ingredients, sift the flour and mix it with salt, dissolve the baking powder in the kefir.

Now gradually add the kefir to the flour mixture in small portions and knead a soft, elastic dough. Place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

For the filling, mix the cottage cheese (slightly mashed), egg yolks, and chopped herbs, add salt, and stir until smooth.

Grease the cutting board or any other surface where we will place the buns with vegetable oil. Dip your hands in oil as well, tear off a small piece of dough, flatten it into a patty. Place the filling in the center of the patty and shape it into a neat bun. Repeat until all the dough is used up.

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, heat it up, and fry the buns on all sides until they develop a golden-brown crust. The buns turn out delicious, but it's best to eat them quickly—after all, you know that cottage cheese doesn't keep for long. Enjoy your meal!
