Pirozhki that don't go stale
Description
Delicious pastries for the whole family. This dough recipe is very simple, and you will be pleasantly surprised by the result. The name fits perfectly and the pastries come out amazingly tender—even the next day! The recipe works for filled pies, sweet buns, and any other homemade baking. Worth noting.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Combine warm milk, egg, sugar, salt, yeast, and butter.
- 3
Step 3

Mix.
- 4
Step 4

Add the flour gradually.
- 5
Step 5

Knead soft dough that does not stick to your hands. Shape it into a ball and brush it with vegetable oil. Put the dough in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and wrap a large terry towel around the bowl on top. Turn off the oven and place the dough on the rack inside for 20–25 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

After proofing, take the dough out of the oven. Remove the towel and let it sit for another 15 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Divide the dough into portions and roll each into a ball. Depending on how large you want the pies to be, you may get a different number. I ended up with 19 pieces; each ball was about 50 g. Cover the balls with a towel so they don’t dry out from the air.

Step 8

Roll each dough ball into a flat round and spoon the filling on top. Any filling works; mine is mashed potatoes. Seal the edges well to shape a pastry. Finished pastries may be brushed with egg yolk and baked in the oven or fried in a pan.
- 9
Step 9

This time I decided to fry them.
- 10
Step 10

Pirozhki made with this recipe are very soft and tender!
