Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Pour warm milk into a bowl, add a couple of spoons of sugar and the yeast. Mix well, add a cup of flour and mix again. Cover and let it sit for 20-30 minutes, allowing the starter to rise.
- 2
Step 2

Now add the remaining sugar, melted butter or margarine, and eggs to the sponge. Mix well.
- 3
Step 3

Gradually add flour and knead an elastic dough. You may need a little more or less flour, so go by the dough's consistency. It should not stick to your hands. Cover the dough and place it in a warm spot to rise for about an hour and a half.

Step 4

Remove the pits from the cherries and place them on a colander so that the excess juice can drain (you can use frozen berries).
- 5
Step 5

When the dough rises, press it down and wait for it to rise again. Then divide the dough into small, equal pieces.
- 6
Step 6

Lightly grease the table or board with vegetable oil and shape the dough pieces into flatbreads.
- 7
Step 7

Place half a teaspoon of sugar in the center of each flatbread, then add 5-6 cherries. Over the cherries, you can add 1/3 teaspoon of starch.
- 8
Step 8

And, carefully pinching the edges of the dough, shape them into buns.
- 9
Step 9

Grease the baking sheet with vegetable oil, place the buns seam side down. Let the dough rise and brush the buns with beaten egg.
- 10
Step 10

Bake the buns in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for about 30 minutes.
