Yeast buns with kefir
Description
Perfect for serving with tea and coffee. The dough can be kneaded by hand in the usual way, or you can use a bread machine. For the dough base, we'll use flour, yeast, and kefir.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Place 2 tsp of yeast, 450 g of flour, 3 tbsp of sugar, 1 tsp of salt, 250 ml of kefir, and 3 tbsp of vegetable oil into the bread machine container. Load the ingredients into the bread machine according to the instruction (wet-dry or dry-wet). I use the second loading option.

Step 2

Knead the dough in a bread machine. My dough was kneaded for 3 hours in the "French dough" mode.
- 3
Step 3

Divide the dough into 15 balls. Roll out each ball into a flat round. Place the filling in the center. I use pitted sour cherries. The cherries are tart, so I add 1 teaspoon of sugar to each filling, but I don't sweeten all the cherries. They will release juice and your buns will spoil, falling apart.

Step 4

Shape all the buns. You can use other types of filling. Place the shaped buns onto a baking tray (greased with oil or lined with baking paper). Brush the buns with beaten egg.

Step 5

Bake the buns at 200 degrees until done.
