Pie in the oven with filling
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. I usually buy ready-made pie dough, but if you have time, you can make it yourself. This time I'm preparing a pie with a hearty filling made from leftover turkey, sautéed mushrooms, cranberry sauce, and meat. You can use any filling you like, including berries, fruits, nuts, and more. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Roll out each sheet of dough into a layer that fits the shape of your baking pan (depending on which one you are using).
- 2
Step 2
Place one in a mold and form the edges. Put the mushrooms, sautéed in vegetable oil, on the bottom of the mold and brush them with cranberry sauce.
- 3
Step 3
Place turkey pieces (boiled or roasted) on top of the cranberry sauce and generously coat with meat sauce.
- 4
Step 4
Place the second sheet of dough on top of the pie, tucking in the edges to prevent the filling from leaking. Brush the top with a tablespoon of cream and make deep cuts to allow steam to escape.
- 5
Step 5
Bake in a preheated oven at 230 degrees for 10 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 175 degrees and bake for another 30-40 minutes.
- 6
Step 6
Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before serving, then carefully remove and cool on a wire rack; cut into pieces.
