Pie in an air fryer
Description
You may need slightly less or slightly more baking time than I indicated—it depends on the power of your air fryer and the material your pan is made of, so at about the 40-minute mark peek into the bowl and judge the doneness of your pie by its appetizing golden-brown crust and the dry-toothpick test. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Place the ingredients you need for preparation on the table. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 2
Step 2

In a large bowl, beat the eggs and add the sugar.
- 3
Step 3

Using a mixer, beat the eggs with sugar until the mixture is pale and very airy; I used a hand mixer and beat for 2 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Pour the milk into the egg mixture and stir.
- 5
Step 5

Sift the flour, add baking powder and vanilla.
- 6
Step 6

Using gentle spatula strokes, fold in the dry ingredients until the batter is smooth, lump-free, and airy.
- 7
Step 7

Peel the apples and remove the core. Cut the flesh into thin slices.
- 8
Step 8

Arrange the apple slices loosely in a single layer on the bottom of a baking dish or mold that suits you; I use a 20 cm silicone mold.
- 9
Step 9

Spread the airy batter over the apple slices, using a spatula to distribute it evenly.
- 10
Step 10

Cover the baking pan with the future pie in it with food foil and place it in the air fryer basket. Bake the pie in the air fryer according to the following setting: bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees, then pull the basket out of the air fryer, remove the foil from the pan, and bake without foil for another 15 minutes.
- 11
Step 11

Cool the finished pie, sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar, and serve.
- 12
Step 12

Ready. Serve at the table.
