Spiced Pie

Description

Perfect with tea and coffee. Cream the butter with sugar. Gradually add the eggs, then alternately add the dry ingredients and milk, mixing until smooth. Divide the batter among three 18 cm greased baking pans. Bake at 190°C for 30 minutes. Let cool in the pans. Divide the marzipan into 2 equal parts and roll each into an 18 cm circle. Assemble the cake layers with marzipan and lemon cream. Dust the top with powdered sugar. Instead of three pans, you can use one deep pan. In that case, bake the cake for 40–45 minutes, then slice it into three layers. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
