Sprat Pie
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. You can make a sprat pie using yeast dough, but I prefer the version made with yeast-free puff pastry. In this case, you can creatively shape the pie like a fish, giving the dish a unique touch. A sprat pie made with puff pastry turns out very tasty—the pastry doesn't overpower the flavor of the sprats but rather complements and slightly balances it. Sprat lovers will definitely enjoy this pie. Prepare it to take along on a walk in the park or simply to snack on at home. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. I used ready-made puff pastry, but you can make it yourself — there are many recipes on this site for making puff pastry from scratch.
- 2
Step 2

Slightly thaw the puff pastry sheet so that it can be rolled out. Place it on a floured work surface and roll it into a thin layer (about 2-3 mm thick).
- 3
Step 3

Place the sprats in the middle, and make cuts on the dough on both sides, as shown in the photo.
- 4
Step 4

Fold the dough as if braiding a braid.
- 5
Step 5

Transfer the pie to a baking sheet. Brush it with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the pie in the oven for 20 minutes (at 180 degrees).

Step 6

The pie with sprats is ready. It turned out very appetizing and incredibly delicious! Serve it warm, garnished with fresh herbs. Enjoy your meal!
